City Year

Description

Every year, nearly 3,000 young people join City Year and dedicate 11 months to make a lasting impact on students and communities across the country. #makebetterhappen is a place where you can hear some of the great things that are happening every day, from the AmeriCorps members themselves. It is a place where thousands of stories all add up to #makebetterhappen. At City Year, we are working to bridge the gap in high-poverty communities between the support that students actually need, and what their schools are designed and resourced to provide. In doing so, we helping to increase graduation rates across the country, and changing the lives of the students we serve. Eligibility: Have a college degree or have attended some college, have a high school diploma or GED. Be able to dedicate 11 months to full-time service. Be between the ages of 18 and 25. Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident alien. Have served no more than 3 terms in another AmeriCorps, NCCC or VISTA program. Agree to a background or security check.
